In this short audiovisual poem, the author looks for her roots in her father’s mother tongue. Growing up in Latin America in a predominantly Spanish-speaking environment, the German language was a bridge to understand part of her identity.
This short film shows the possibility of language not only as a way to communicate ideas and feelings, but as a tool of introspective reflection.
What is the German language for the author? It is a home, a grandmother, a father, a garden. It is the memory of love and the persistence of hope.
